Blue-Leafed Wattle (Acacia saligna-syn. Acacia cyanophylla) Tree

Blue-Leafed Wattle (Acacia saligna-syn. Acacia cyanophylla) Tree - Drought Tolerant Trees. The Blue-Leafed Wattle belongs botanically to the family of the Fabaceae (or Leguminosae). It is a small evergreen tree, fast growth rate, which acquires a spherical - spreading shape. The leaves are simple, elongated-lanceolate, glaucous-green in colour. Flowering is observed from early to mid-spring with fine yellow-coloured flowers borne on a capitulum inflorescence. The flowers are succeeded by brown-coloured legume fruits. Blue-Leafed Wattle is an easy to grow tree. It grows in almost any soil type, slightly acidic to slightly alkaline (low lime content), which has excellent drainage. It has a high drought resistance and is not affected by salt spray, making it suitable for planting in coastal areas. Like all botanical Acacia, this species enriches the soil with Nitrogen.

Note:
Acacia saligna is a highly invasive species and behaves as a difficult to control aggressive weed. For this reason it should not be planted outside urban areas.

► It is offered at a price determined by the particular characteristics of the tree, such as the size of the pot, its height, and age. Large trees are also available for sale (and planting) upon prior arrangement. In any case, the price or prices listed are indicative.
