Carrot 'Nantes di Chioggia 2' Seeds. Medium-early variety of palatable medium-sized carrots, orange-red color, without woody fibers in the heart. It is located in the sandy terrain such as the Chioggia coastal fields in the Venice lagoon, from where it comes from. Sufficiently productive, as with any type of carrot, Nantes di Chioggia 2 is a rich source of vitamins B and C, calcium, magnesium, iron and antioxidants. It is harvested from late spring to early winter. Available in a 20g packet.
Seeds of the Nantes di Chioggia 2 variety are seeded directly into their final positions and at 18-24 0C germinate in 8-14 days. Three to four weeks after sowing, the plants are thinned, leaving one per 2-2.5cm. After thinning the population per m2 should be between 80-100 plants. In each growing season, is necessary 2-3 thinnings.
Fertilization is carried out by applying fertilizer at N, P, K, 1: 1,2: 1 ratios.
Irrigation is done using the sprinkling method, with 0-5/month watering in the winter season and 10-15/month in the summer.
